VIRTUAL CLASSES

Create everyday magic from the comfort and safety of your own home! No web cam or computer skills are needed to participate, as you won't be on camera yourself. We will be live streaming from our studio and participants will be able to ask questions and comments through the Facebook LIVE chat feed.

 

Who are our virtual workshops for? They are best suited for adults however, anyone is welcome to participate with parental supervision.

How do I participate? No sweat - it's easy-peasy! Register and pay through Facebook and when it's time for the class to start, you can access the session directly through the Facebook event page. Turn on your speakers, sit back and relax! If you are unavailable to attend during the scheduled date/time, participants can leisurely view the filming for up to 48 hours after the live stream has ended.

DIY Botanical Dye Bundle Workshop

Botanical dyeing is an eco-friendly and non-toxic way to color fabric, using natural materials such as: flowers, leaves, tree bark and food waste. Bundle dyeing is one of the easiest ways to naturally dye fabric at home.

During this 1-hour virtual workshop, you will learn about the importance of mordanting fabrics, the basics of natural dyeing and fiber types. This workshop includes a live demonstration on how to bundle dye cotton using flowers, leaves and berries and explore various design techniques. You can follow along at home or simply watch along and ask questions through the interactive chat feed for live answers.

Beyond the Basics: Watercolor Painting Workshop

Painting with Coffee/Tea Workshop

During this fun art workshop you will learn how to utilize coffee and/or tea t make beautiful artwork. These unique mediums share many similarities to watercolors. The unique texture and color palette is eye-catching and a great way to experience the joy of creativity while at home!

This workshop is beginner friendly and will explore the following skills/techniques:

- Preparing your liquid for painting
- Texturizing techniques
- Creating different shades

Watercolor & Ink: Champagne Flowers Workshop

Dive into the beautiful world of watercolor painting with Sparkles n' Sawdust Studio Owner, Jacquelyn Miccolis.

This class is suitable for beginner - intermediate. We will begin with covering a couple of watercolor techniques and then move into creating a single piece of artwork from start to finish, through guided step by step instruction.

What you can expect to learn:

- Making a basic pencil sketch
- Creating a strong composition: theme, arrangement, colors, shapes etc.
- Applying transparent watercolor paint in layers using a combination of wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques
- Using Ink to enhance your artwork by outlining and adding creative details

Virtual Paint Parties

Are you looking for a fun way to celebrate a special occasion, stay connected with a group or arrange for a memorable team building event? If so, you're in luck! Sparkles n' Sawdust Studio offers virtual paint parties for groups of 6 or more people. We provide the supplies - with an easy contactless pick-up option.

Booking Info: 

Please note: we we require a minimum of  2 weeks in advance for booking a virtual paint party. Full payment is due at time of booking via e-transfer or credit card payment over the phone. A minimum of 2 days in advance is required to reschedule paint party booking. All sales are final.

 

Paint Parties: 90 minutes - $25+hst / person +$25 +hst / Kit

Supply kit includes: 1 canvas, 1 set of acrylic paints and 1 paint brush set with plastic painters' palette
